Hello, my name is Mercury McCutcheon. I am a mixed-media artist specializing in unusually complex and beautiful surface patterns. My mission is to create interesting and versatile designs for a vast array of products that inspire their owner to feel positively magical. I love this. The only thing in this world that brings me more joy is my family.

I live at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado with my husband, daughter, and son. All three of them are as beautiful as can be. At the time of me writing this, our daughter is two and our son is four months. Every day is a new and exciting (and sometimes exhausting) adventure.

I graduated from the University of Colorado Denver with a bachelor's degree not in art. Every now and then I think about going back to college and getting a master's degree. I probably won't.

I am inspired by color, dreams and all that lies on the outskirts of reality. I like to take everyday things and transform them into something new, unusual, thought provoking, interesting, colorful, pretty. In my mind, this is magic and I am more than an artist, (I raise up my fist to emphasize ultimate power before this last phrase), I am a magician. If I were reading that allowed, I would deepen my voice several octaves to accompany the fist of ultimate power.
